Privacy policy and terms
How Slick Shine LLC handles your information, and the terms for our mobile detailing services, VIP Membership and shop. Written in plain English.
Effective date:
Slick Shine LLC (“Slick Shine,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile auto detailing company serving the Jacksonville, Florida area. This page applies to www.slickshinellc.com, to bookings you make with us, and to products you buy from our shop. If you have a question about anything here, call (904) 528-0075 or email info@slickshinellc.com.
Privacy policy
We collect only what we need to answer you, detail your vehicle and fill your orders. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use our contact or VIP sign-up form, we receive what you type in: usually your name, phone number, email, vehicle, ZIP code, the service you’re interested in and your message.
- Bookings. When you book a service or join VIP, you do it on our scheduling provider, Acuity Scheduling (slickshinellc.as.me). Acuity collects your contact details, service address, vehicle, appointment details and payment. Payments there are processed by Acuity’s payment processor (Square). We never see or store your full card number.
- Shop orders. When you buy products, you check out on Shopify’s secure checkout. Shopify collects your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone and payment details and shares order details with us so we can ship your order. We never see your full card number.
- Calls, texts and emails. If you contact us directly, we keep the message and your contact details so we can reply and keep a record of your service.
- Photos. We may take before-and-after photos of your vehicle when we detail it (see Photos of our work).
- Usage data, only if you allow it. If you click Accept on our cookie banner, our analytics and advertising tools collect information such as the pages you view, buttons you click, device and browser type, approximate location (from your IP address), and the site or ad that brought you here.
- Basic technical data. Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically receives standard request data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, which is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
We don’t ask for sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, health information or government ID, and you shouldn’t send it to us.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and give you quotes.
- To schedule, perform and follow up on your detail, and to run your VIP Membership.
- To process and ship shop orders.
- To send appointment confirmations, reminders, service updates and receipts.
- To ask how we did and invite you to leave a review.
- To send offers and promotions, but only where you’ve agreed to receive them, and you can stop at any time.
- If you accepted cookies, to understand which pages are useful and to measure and improve our advertising.
- To keep the site and our business secure, prevent fraud, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies and similar tools (like your browser’s local storage) are small pieces of data saved on your device. We use a few essential ones to make the site work, and optional ones for analytics and advertising only after you click Accept.
| What | Why | When it’s used |
|---|---|---|
| Cookie choice | Remembers whether you accepted or declined | Always (essential) |
| Shop cart | Keeps your cart between visits | Only if you add something to the cart (essential) |
| Vehicle size | Remembers the vehicle size you picked so prices show correctly | Only if you pick a size (essential) |
| Google Tag Manager | Loads the optional tools below | Only after you click Accept |
| Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and shows which pages are useful | Only after you click Accept |
| Meta Pixel | Measures our Facebook and Instagram ads and helps show them to people likely to be interested | Only after you click Accept |
| Hotjar | Heatmaps and visit recordings that show how people use our pages, so we can fix what’s confusing | Only after you click Accept |
How to opt out. If you click Decline, none of the optional tools load. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings. Blocking essential storage may stop the cart from working.
Our booking pages (Acuity) and checkout (Shopify) are run by those companies and set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Analytics and ad partners
If you accept cookies, these companies receive usage data from our site and use it under their own privacy policies:
- Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics): Google Privacy Policy
- Meta (Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram ads): Meta Privacy Policy
- Hotjar (heatmaps and visit recordings): Hotjar Privacy Policy. Text you type into our forms is masked from recordings.
Calls, texts and email
Service messages. When you book with us, fill out a form or give us your phone number or email, you agree that we (and our scheduling provider, Acuity) may call, text or email you about your request, appointment, membership or order. This includes confirmations, reminders, arrival updates and follow-ups.
Marketing messages. We send promotional texts or calls only if you’ve agreed to receive them. Those messages may be sent using automated technology. Agreeing to marketing messages is never a condition of buying anything from us.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help, or call (904) 528-0075. After you opt out, we may send one message confirming it. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email or email us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still contact you about appointments or orders you have with us.
We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing. Mobile opt-in information is never shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Acuity Scheduling and Square: bookings, VIP billing and payments.
- Shopify: shop orders, checkout and payments.
- Vercel: website hosting and our form handler.
- Resend and our email provider: delivering form submissions to our inbox.
- Google, Meta and Hotjar: analytics and advertising, only if you accept cookies.
- Shipping carriers: delivering shop orders.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights, customers or the public, or as part of selling or transferring the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are emailed to us and are not stored on the website. We keep customer, booking and order records for as long as we need them to serve you, run your membership, and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, and then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to the settings and policies of the provider that collects it.
Security
This site is served only over HTTPS. Payments are handled entirely by Acuity/Square and Shopify, which are built to industry payment-security standards, so card numbers never pass through our site. We limit who on our team can access customer information. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but if we learn of a breach that affects you we will notify you as Florida law requires.
Children
Our services and shop are for adults. You must be at least 18 to book or buy. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Your privacy rights
No matter where you live, you can ask us to:
- Know and access the personal information we have about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your information, unless we need to keep it to finish a job, for legal or tax reasons, or to resolve a dispute.
- Opt out of marketing messages, and of cookies used for analytics and targeted advertising.
California, Florida and other state residents. Some state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA and the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, give residents specific rights, including the rights above, the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising, the right to limit use of sensitive information, and the right not to be treated differently for using these rights. We extend these choices to all customers whether or not a particular law applies to a business our size.
- We do not sell personal information for money and we don’t collect sensitive personal information.
- If you accept cookies, the Meta Pixel and Google tools may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some state laws. To opt out, click Decline or use the Cookie settings link, or turn on Global Privacy Control (below).
- We will never charge you more or give you worse service for using your privacy rights.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Our site honors Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal and you haven’t made a choice yet, we treat it as Decline and the optional analytics and advertising tools do not load. There is no common standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, so we don’t respond to them separately, but you can always decline cookies with the banner or Cookie settings link.
How to make a request
To access, correct or delete your information, or to ask any privacy question, email info@slickshinellc.com or call (904) 528-0075. Tell us your name and the phone number or email you used with us. We may ask you to confirm a few details so we know the request really comes from you. You can also have an authorized agent contact us for you. We’ll respond within the time the law requires, and usually much sooner. If we deny a request, we’ll tell you why and how to appeal by replying to our answer.
Terms of service
Accepting these terms
By using this website, booking a service, joining VIP or buying from our shop, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy above. You must be at least 18 and the owner of the vehicle, or have the owner’s permission to have it detailed. Our booking system (Acuity) and checkout (Shopify) may show additional terms when you book or buy; those apply too, and if they conflict with this page, this page controls between you and Slick Shine.
Services and scheduling
We are a mobile service: we come to your home or workplace in the Jacksonville, Florida area. We currently offer car detailing (interior, exterior and full packages), bundles, motorcycle detailing and the VIP Membership. Descriptions on this site explain what each service includes. Results depend on your vehicle’s condition, and some stains, odors, scratches or damage can’t be fully removed.
Appointment times are booked through our scheduling system. Arrival times are estimates; traffic, weather and earlier jobs can affect them, and we’ll keep you updated if we’re running late. We may need to reschedule for unsafe weather or other conditions outside our control, and we’ll work with you to find the next available time at no extra cost. We may decline or stop a service if conditions are unsafe or the vehicle needs work beyond the service booked.
Prices, fees and taxes
- Base prices on this site are for cars.
- Vehicle size fees: trucks and 2-row suvs are +$15 and 3-row suvs and large vehicles are +$30.
- Add-ons (for example, seat or floor shampoo, engine bay detail or pet hair removal) are optional and chosen when you book. Their prices are shown on our pricing page and at booking.
- Taxes and processing fees are added where they apply. Your exact total is shown in the booking system or checkout before you pay.
- If your vehicle is a different size, or needs significantly more work than booked (such as heavy pet hair, mud, sand or biohazards), we’ll tell you before starting any extra work and you can approve it or keep the original service.
Prices can change, but the price shown when you book is the price for that appointment. If there’s an obvious pricing error on the site, we’ll let you know and you can choose the correct price or cancel.
Payment
Services and VIP Memberships are paid through Acuity Scheduling, with payments processed by Square. Shop orders are paid through Shopify’s checkout. These companies handle your card details under their own security and terms; we never see or store your full card number. By paying, you confirm you’re authorized to use the payment method.
All sales final and our promise
All sales are final. We don’t offer refunds on services, add-ons or VIP Membership payments.
Our satisfaction promise: if something isn’t right after your detail, tell us and we’ll make it right. Contact us as soon as possible (ideally while we’re still there, or right after) with a description and photos, and we’ll come back out and correct the areas we missed at no charge. Any refund is at the owner’s sole discretion. This promise covers the work we did, not conditions that existed before the service or that came back afterward through normal use.
Cancelling, rescheduling and missed appointments
Life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do it as early as you can using the link in your confirmation or by calling (904) 528-0075, so we can offer the time to someone else.
If we arrive at the scheduled time and can’t reach you or access the vehicle, we’ll try to contact you. If we can’t, the appointment may be treated as missed and you’ll need to rebook. Because all sales are final, payments for missed appointments are handled under the policy shown in our booking system when you booked.
What we need from you
- Access. Have the vehicle parked somewhere we can safely work around it, with room to open all doors, and leave keys available if you won’t be there.
- Permission to work there. Make sure we’re allowed to detail at the location, including any HOA, apartment or employer rules.
- Water and power, if needed. Some jobs may need access to an outdoor water spigot or electrical outlet. We’ll tell you when you book if your service needs them.
- Remove valuables. Please take out cash, jewelry, electronics, documents and other valuables before we arrive. We’re not responsible for loose items left in the vehicle.
- Tell us about issues. Let us know about any damage, aftermarket parts, sensitive surfaces, warning lights or special requests before we start.
Vehicle condition and pre-existing damage
We look over your vehicle before starting and may take photos to note its condition. We’re careful, but we’re not responsible for pre-existing damage or for problems caused by the vehicle’s existing condition, such as failing or peeling clear coat, oxidized or repainted paint, loose trim, cracked glass, worn upholstery, previous repairs, or electrical and mechanical issues. Detailing can make existing scratches, chips or stains easier to see once dirt is removed.
If you believe we damaged something, tell us right away (before we leave if possible) so we can look at it together. If we caused it, we’ll work with you to fix it.
Insurance. Slick Shine LLC carries business insurance. Proof of coverage is available on request; call (904) 528-0075.
Photos of our work
We may take before-and-after photos and videos of your vehicle to document our work and to share on our website and social media. We don’t show your face, license plate, address or personal items. If you don’t want your vehicle shared, just tell us at booking or anytime afterward, and we won’t post it (or we’ll take it down).
VIP Membership
- Price and billing. VIP is $89.99 per month, excluding taxes and fees, plus a one-time $9.99 setup fee. Your exact monthly total is shown in checkout before you pay. Your membership renews and is billed automatically each month to the payment method on file through Acuity until you cancel.
- What’s included. One maintenance detail each month, as described on our VIP page, plus the member perks listed there. Add-ons and vehicle size fees apply as listed in our prices.
- Travel. VIP includes 30 miles of free travel. Beyond 30 miles, travel is $1 per mile, added to your monthly bill.
- No minimum commitment. There’s no minimum term. Cancel anytime by contacting us or through your account in our booking system. A $20 cancellation fee applies when you cancel a membership. Cancelling stops future charges. Because all sales are final, payments already made, including the current month and setup fee, are not refunded.
- Processing fee. Membership payments include a 3.5% card processing fee, which is part of the “taxes and fees” shown at checkout. For a standard car the monthly total is about $112 with taxes and fees.
- Pausing. If you need a break (travel, vehicle in the shop), contact us and we’ll let you know the options available for pausing your membership.
- Scheduling. Member slots are booked well in advance and held for you each month. If you need to move a visit, let us know as early as possible.
- Failed payments. If a monthly payment fails, we’ll let you know. Visits may be paused until the payment is updated.
- Changes. If the membership price or benefits change, we’ll tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.
Shop orders
Products in our shop are sold by Slick Shine LLC and checked out on Shopify. Product prices, shipping costs, taxes and estimated delivery are shown at checkout before you pay. Product photos and descriptions are as accurate as we can make them, but colors and packaging can vary.
All product sales are final, unless your item arrives damaged or defective, or we sent the wrong item. If that happens, contact us promptly with your order number and photos, and we’ll replace it or make it right. Use detailing products as directed on the label and test on a small hidden area first; we’re not responsible for results from misuse.
Using this website
You may use this site to learn about our services, book and shop. Please don’t misuse it: no hacking, scraping, overloading the site, submitting false information or spam through our forms, or using it for anything illegal.
The site’s content, including our name, logo, text, photos and videos, belongs to Slick Shine LLC or is used with permission (some footage is licensed stock), and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy or reuse it without our written permission. You’re welcome to share links to our pages.
Other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as Acuity, Shopify, Google, Facebook and Instagram. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, policies or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep this site accurate and running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated on this page, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Results of detailing vary with each vehicle’s condition. Nothing on this site is a promise that a specific stain, odor, scratch or defect can be removed.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Slick Shine LLC and its owners and team members are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, such as loss of use of your vehicle, lost time or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim related to a service, membership or order is limited to the amount you paid for that specific service, membership month or order. This doesn’t limit liability that can’t be limited by law, such as liability for our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Indemnification
If you break these terms, misuse the site, or give us false information (for example, booking a vehicle you don’t have permission to have serviced, or a location where we’re not allowed to work), you agree to cover the reasonable costs, claims and losses that result to us, including reasonable attorney’s fees.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, please contact us first. Most issues can be solved with a phone call, and we’ll make a good-faith effort to resolve it informally. If we can’t resolve it, any lawsuit must be brought in the state courts located in Duval County, Florida, and you and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
Changes to this page
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top. Changes apply from that date forward and don’t affect appointments or orders already placed. If a change materially affects VIP members, we’ll let members know directly. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use our site and book with us. We build it to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where we can, with readable text, keyboard navigation, labeled forms and image descriptions. Our booking and checkout pages are run by Acuity and Shopify. If anything on our site is hard to use, or you’d rather book by phone, call (904) 528-0075 or email info@slickshinellc.com and we’ll help and fix the problem.
